The origins of the
Adolfo Domínguez Group go back
to the tailor's business that Adolfo
Domínguez Senior set up in
Ourense in the sixties.
In 1973, commercial activity begins
with the opening of the first shop
in Ourense. In 1976, he forms a family
company together with his children
called Adolfo Domínguez and
Sons Ltd. and dedicated initially
to the manufacture of suits.
With the acquired knowledge of the
trends and tendencies of the international
market place, Adolfo Domínguez
introduces new product ranges in 1979
and launches a successful publicity
campaign based on the slogan "Creased
is Beautiful".
In this way, Adolfo Domínguez
places himself at the forefront of
the sector's renewal in Spain by promoting
an urban prêt-à-porter
style in the mid to high segment of
fashion.
